According to a News18 story, the Indian government has decided to temporarily lift the BGMI ban for a period of three months. Reports suggest that the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) is in the process of issuing an order to unblock BGMI on both the Google Play Store and App Store. The publication learns that this information has been obtained from a senior official of MeitY.
However, its main purpose will be as a testing ground for BGMI in India as the game will be subject to analysis and monitoring for three months. Moreover, if the app is found to be violating any of the rules of the country, it will be banned again.

BGMI is expected to make a comeback with many changes and tweaks. Speculation suggests that there will be time restrictions and limits on the duration of gameplay. Crafton also intended to reduce the level of graphic violence by changing the color of the blood in the game. While BGMI was previously available in India, players had the option to choose between red and green blood colors, but this will now be set to the default option.
There has been no official announcement by Crafton or the authorities regarding the return of BGMI to India and reports of its return have been doing the rounds for months. However, even after the ban is lifted, it will be interesting to see how BGMI manages its operations in India given the conditions it will have to face and abide by.
